Brown Family 'Stay'-cation: Day 1

This past weekend was the Brown Family 'Stay'-cation. For various reasons we all decided that it would just work best if we hung around town and had a family reunion here in Boise. We packed those three days full of as much fun and excitement as I think is humanly possible... especially when there is four kids ages 3 and under involved.

The first day we headed to the zoo. We arrived nice and early and the weather couldn''t have been any nicer. It was nice and cool and it seemed like all the animals were out and about and busy eating breakfast. This was Weston's first time to the zoo and I think he really enjoyed it. I'm sure he'll understand what's going on a bit more the next time we go, but he understood enough to really get excited to see all the fun animals.
Apparently the snow leopard gets agitated easily... so Weston banging on the glass didn't help. If you look closely, you can see that the snow leopard is chomping on his own tail....

Weston was intrigued by the goats... the goats were intrigued with Weston's goldfish crackers...

I don't know where Weston gets his overly animated expressions from....

The penguins was probably Weston's favorite exhibit.

Sneaky penguins... coming around when Weston isn't looking.

"One of these things is not like the other..."
Weston is learning to walk on uneven ground... also, Thomas likes to climb on the penguins.
After the zoo we went to The Boise Fry Company and snacked on some yummy french fries (if you live in the Boise area you need to go check them out... so good, and so unique!). It was a quick snack - mostly due to the little ones in desperate need of naps.

Weston fell asleep before we were even on the freeway. He's such a cute little sleeper.
After naps we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Brown's house to make some family reunion t-shirts. The front had a fun little logo and on the back we put:
THINGS I LEARNED FROM DAD:
1. How to use a plunger
2. How to pick up dog poop
3. Never take a nap if Mom isn't home to watch the kids
4. Remember your kids birthdays
5. TVs don't fly very well
6. How to avoid getting it in the "whidit"
7. Don't sneak a gameboy into your scripture case
8. Math can be fun if explained using an expo marker on Mom's sliding glass door
9. You get in twice as much trouble for repeating it
10. Cuz I'm the Dad!
BROWN FAMILY REUNION 2011

After dinner the little ones swam outside while some of the big kids played games inside. Weston isn't a huge fan of swimming with others - he doesn't like being splashed. But after the other ones lost interest in swimming Weston enjoyed playing in the pool on his own.

Sometime after swimming and swinging we all went on a walk to see the cows... The little boys love to go and see the cows.
We came home and played and chatted until all the little ones were in desperate need of baths and bed time. And I won't lie - Weston wasn't the only one that was exhausted after such a long day... Tyler and I were in bed almost as soon as Weston was. It was a really fun day with family!!
