Weston is officially 18 months old!!! WAHOO!!

Weston is such a busy little dude. He is learning and grasping new things every day. Each evening at home I am just amazed at how much more he's changed from that morning. He is turning into a little helper. He pretty much understand anything we ask him to do - "Weston, pick up such and such toy", "Can you hand momma such and such?", "Weston, come lay down we need to change your diaper:" Now, he doesn't always follow these instructions, but he certainly understands them. =D

Weston is enjoying his new found vocabulary and how much faster he gets what he wants now that he can specifically tell us what it is.

He "Baa's" like a sheep, "moo's" like a cow, roars, and makes a pretty good elephant noise.

He knows where his eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head, hands, cheeks, toes, elbow, and belly are and he gets them constantly right - he occasionally points to his eyes when I say ears, but not as often as a he did a few days ago.

When driving in the car if we come to a stop Weston will immediately shout out, "GO!". He does not like stopping - and so we are working on explaining the concept of 'red light - green light'. So far our attempts have been unsuccessful.

When it's time to get his diaper changed we'll tell Weston that we need to change his pants and to come lay down - and over the last two weeks he will really do what we ask. He'll come to us and lay down in front of us and lies really still. And watching him lay down is the cutest thing ever - I don't know why, but it's just so funny to watch him do it.

Weston loves books and loves for us to read them to him. *Christmas idea - more books* He is starting to interact with the books now. When he sees a lion or tiger he'll roar at them - complete with hand actions. When there is a picture of flowers he smells the page - or a picture of food he'll pretend he's taking a bit and make a chomping noise.

Weston is a dancing fool. Any time there is music on you better believe Weston will start bustin' a move. He's been bouncing with the beat for a year, and swaying with the music for almost that long. But recently he's started busting out funny arm movements and starting to march in place and front and back. I think another couple months of practice and Weston will be able to out dance his daddy! =D

Hanging out. Weston bumped his head - forehead collision with his cousin's head. Seems to be the usual these days. What can I say? He's all boy - running, getting into mischief, climbing up onto/into things he shouldn't... it leads to lots of bonked heads.

Weston and I walked over to my friend's baby shower a week or so ago and on the way back he was really quiet - I figured it was because it was nap time and he was getting sleepy. Nope. It was because Weston was too busy making a mess:

Yes, M&M's certainly do melt in your mouth... as well as your hand, and on your face and just about every where.

Weston had wiggled his little fingers into the bag and eventually worked the ribbon loose and started smashing as many M&M's into his face as possible.

Weston's other recent discovery is that he can climb into things. He's almost able to climb into the bath tub - it's just a bit too tall for him, but he's big enough to climb into his toy chest/ottoman.

He just kept wiggling back and forth to work himself into the toy chest completely.

Success!! (.4 seconds after this picture was taken he tried standing up and hit his head on the lid of the ottoman... that's when his fun ended. See, I told you he bonks his head a lot).

Lots of playing.  Currently his favorite toys are his plane (the toy his right hand is holding in the picture below) as well as anything found in our utensil drawer in the kitchen. But he loves books and his cell phone.

Weston joined us on our car ride to Twin Falls for one of my closest and dearest friend's weddings. He was such a trooper. He was really fussy the drive there and during the sealing (Tyler ended up having to stay with him) but we later found out that he has a double ear infection (something we learned a couple days later).

But he had fun at the reception - he was able to spend time with both grandmas, so that is always a special treat.

Weston just being silly... one night his favorite thing in the world was pushing this laundry basket around.  He was literally busting a gut over it - he thought he was just too funny.

This little man loves technology... we can never get pictures with him any more - he just wants to hold the camera.

We are currently watching Grandma and Grandpa Watson's dog, Brooke, while they are on a fun and fabulous cruise. Weston loves having a 'pup-pup' in the house.

It's been a relatively relaxed two weeks - and Weston is currently getting over his double ear infection, so we'll be keeping things low key for the next few days.

Weston goes to nursery for the first time on Sunday - what an absolute bitter-sweet moment that will be. But I know he'll love it, so that is going to make it even more sweet. He is such a loving and pretty out going little boy. When I pick him up from his babysitter's house he is always playing so well with the other little boys. On Wednesday when I picked him up him and his buddy Jace (who is 1 week younger than Weston) were sitting at the babysitter's piano and going back and forth and each playing one note at a time. Both of them were intently watching the other and it was like they were in sync. So neat.

Weston is clever, smart, funny, loud, and everything a little boy should be. We just love him to pieces and can't believe he's now closer to 2 than to 1! Amazing how time flies when you're having fun.
