Weston is a busy little guy. He seems to be ready to go and do the moment he wakes up in the morning. Getting him up can be a bit difficult - he is already like a teenager in his inability to wake up in the mornings. He's even scooted to the other side of the crib when I went to get him up one morning. Silly kid. But I love to just hold him in the mornings - rocking him and softly saying his name - while he wakes up. Before too long he's going to be too big to pick up and hold.
Weston's most recent words are:
Hey
Go
Pot
Toes
I did it
(this isn't super clear, but several people have heard him say it and they all agree, that's absolutely what he's saying)
The frequency in which he uses the words he knows has also gone up quite dramatically. He now says the words without being prompted.
Even his jibberish is sounding more and more like real words every day.
Weston is obsessed with books. He will have me read the same book at least three times in a row before moving on to the next one. Which reminds me... I need to start looking to get more books for him (mommy can only read the same book so many times before wanting to throw the book away!)...
Weston had his 18 month well baby check. He is growing big and strong and is meeting/surpassing all of the milestones for kids his age. He is in the 82% for height, 75% for weight, and 98% for head circumference. He understands simple commands, walks backwards, throws balls over hand, can walk up steps unassisted, washes and dries his hands, follows two-step requests, can drink from a cup, uses a fork and spoon, shows signs of being ready to potty train, takes toys apart and puts them back together.
Weston loves to play and he is really good at playing with other kids. He loves nursery, or at least we think he does. He can't really tell us... but he doesn't cry when we take him. In fact, he marches right into that room, climbs up onto one of the chairs at the table and waits for someone to give him some playdough. Whenever we check on him we see him playing with the other kids or reading books with one of the teachers (he's always up on the teacher's lap during story time... what a sneaky little boy).
Weston's recent face he pulls when he's being silly...
Happy little man
"Helping" mommy decorate for Christmas...
Happy with his recent sneakiness of stealing all the ornament hooks...
Bath time... one of his favorite times. He is realizing his limits though. The bath tub isn't quite as big as it used to be... But I think it will make him realize how awesome swimming is next summer.
He loves the "waterfall" that mommy makes for him...
He loves to stick his head under the falling water.
It's been a few couple weeks. We are getting ready for the holidays and we are so excited to share all of the magic of this season with Weston. He is already fascinated with our Christmas tree!!
Love you Weston!! So glad we get to be your parents.
