For a while now Weston has been coming up to us, every now and then, and pointing to his diaper and saying, "POOP!!". Sometimes he really has pooped, sometimes he just tooted, and sometimes there's nothing at all. The times when he wasn't actually poopy, I started asking him if he wanted to sit on the potty. He'd always just laugh and run away... up until this past week.
He came up to me one evening as I was cleaning up from dinner and pointed to his diaper and said, "POOP!". He wasn't poopy, so I asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty. To my surprise he got a big smile on his face and ran right into the bathroom and tried to lift up the lid to the toilet.
So... we took his diaper off and sat him up on the big toilet. He was not having it... so we grabbed the little potty that my sister gave us. But Weston knew that this little potty wasn't the real thing and wanted nothing to do with it. Until...
We set the little potty on top of the big potty. And then he loved it.
And since he was up high he couldn't just hop off... so it actually works out to work great at getting him to stay on the potty.
And while we waited to see if he would do his 'business' we sang our 'ABC's' and counted our numbers and even had time to go over all the parts of the body...
"Belly"
"Belly"
"Head"
He's turning into such a big boy.
We've sat him on the potty a few times now, and although he has yet to do any of his 'business' he is showing a lot of enthusiasm - and at this point that is a definate win in our book!
Good work little man!! We love you!
