Weston is all about mazes right now. He has a little Mickey Mouse coloring book. Inside is various pictures to color along with a few Dot-to-Dots and a couple mazes. He surprised me the other day when I went into his room to get him from his nap. He ran over, grabbed the book, flipped through the pages to one of the mazes, and then proceeded to trace, with his finger, through the maze. He did it completely right - didn't get stuck once. He then proceeded to tell me that this was a map - that we needed to take it on our walk - that it would tell us where to go.
So outdoors we headed - with our fearless leader telling us which direction to go. It was actually pretty adorable to watch him look down at the maze, then back up at the street, look around for a moment, and then point and shout, "This way!".
It lead us all over the neighborhood. And all along the way he gathered "treasures for his collection".
Weston loves seeing all the changing colors of the leaves. He would stop at each tree and each shrub to point out the different colors. Nothing like kids to make you take the time to notice the amazing creations all around.
All of his treasures.
Thanks for taking us on such a fun adventure, Weston!
