Wow. This week flew by!! It always seems that life is the busiest during the fall - and this year is no different! I think that Weston adds a lot to our 'To-Do" lists, but he's totally worth all the extra errands.
This week Weston went to his cousin Macy's birthday party... he thoroughly loved it. He ran around, he climbed, he bounced, he even slid down the big slide all by himself... not sure that he liked that one too much. He was completely worn out by the time we were done playing - which meant a nice long nap (bonus for his parents!!). Weston is so much fun! He has a real zeal for life and his curiosity is never ending. I found myself having to just let go and allow him to climb on some of the toys at the party - even if it meant he might fall down. It's hard to realize that our little baby isn't so little any more - and we have to let him grow up.
Speaking of growing up... I came into the living room on Sunday and found Weston sporting daddy's tie from church. He had even put it around his neck all by himself... see what I mean about mimicking us?!
(Also, Tyler bought him one of those really fun books that has the buttons you push as you read the story and they make different sounds that go along with the book. Weston loves it!! It even has a light switch because it's all about turning on and off lights - Weston is fascinated by our light switches at home, so this book was simply perfect for him!)
Sitting up on the couch like a grown man.
Weston's favorite toys are never actually toys... they are either the most high-tech of gadgets, or simple trash...
I know this picture is super blurry, but Weston has the best smile. He has recently learned how to spin in circles - and he thinks he is the funniest kid in the world when he does it. He started spinning in circles on the couch and he kept tipping over because the couch cushion is uneven. He got laughing so hard that I couldn't help but join in.
I tried tying the tie, but Weston wasn't having any of that... He promptly undid it.
Playing with some toys. We do a lot of this...
Bath time. Weston still loves it. I think we should probably start wearing rain ponchos when giving him a bath... or our swimsuits. The kid loves to splash... and throw his toys which results in a splash.
Weston is fascinating to watch when he eats. Sometimes frustrating... but fascinating, none the less. See, Weston loves to throw... a lot! And that isn't just limited to his toys - his favorite things to throw are a tie between one of our cell phones and food.... and not just any food - it has to be food that he's already been chewing on for a while. Lovely.
But I do love to watch his little mind work as he examines his food and as he carefully selects each pieces. He's definitely methodical... like his daddy.
Weston has learned how to walk backwards and he has also started to stand on his head... both of which he thinks are hysterical. He can also climb on every chair and every couch in the house. He knows how to work a computer mouse and loves to bang on the keyboard and the piano.
It's so fun to watch as he learns new things - and we love being a part of it! Love you Weston! Thanks for being such a good sport while your parents were extra busy this week! We are so thankful we get to be your parents!
