Resurrection Rolls

Easter morning, after the scavenger hunt for his Easter basket, Weston and I made Resurrection Rolls. They are super simple to make. Crescent rolls, melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and marshmallows. Each ingredient is a symbol for the burial of Christ after his crucifixion.
First, you press out the crescent roll dough a bit. This represents the burial clothes in which Jesus was wrapped.
Next, you take the marshmallow, which represents the body of Christ, and dip it in the melted butter - the burial oil. Then roll it in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. This represents the burial spices.
Then you wrap the marshmallow with the crescent roll dough (burial clothes). Then Christ's body was laid in a tomb, which in this case is the oven.

Then for three days... (or rather, 12 minutes at 350 degrees)...
 Jesus rose from the grave.
Weston had a lot of fun making them and I think he grasped a bit of the symbolism... although, the marshmallows tend to be a bit distracting. :)
