When Daddy Works Late...

When daddy works late mommy has to bust out the glow sticks because mommy isn't as inherently fun as daddy is.
When daddy works late mommy lets little man stay up an extra 5 minutes (or maybe it was more like 20....) because he's so darn cute and once he's in bed mommy is lonely.
When daddy works late mommy schemes about what/how she wants to refinish their "new-to-them" coffee table.... she's thinking this bad boy is going to go white.
When daddy works late mommy curls up with a whole tub of sorbet and a good book - and then eats way too much sorbet because she was focused on her book and not on how much she was scarfing down.
When daddy works late mommy plants little surprises around for Weston to find - like a pack of his favorite "Buzz Buddy" (Toy Story - or Buzz and Woody) fruit snacks.

When daddy works late mommy takes Weston to Lorie's house in the morning - which means earlier than normal wake up calls, little man getting awesome hair, and sharing toast with homemade jam.
 (Little man loves his toast)
When daddy works late mommy fills her time with getting some long over due projects done - like finishing our gallery wall in our front room (seriously embarrassing how long it took!).

**So it's obvious Tyler is working some very long (honestly insanely long) hours lately. We miss spending our evenings with him, but we are just so proud of how hard he is working. He is currently gearing up to head out of town next week for two weeks to do some training/coaching/certification.

Although the timing isn't ideal (I'm currently 35 weeks - and let me remind you that Weston arrived at 36 weeks - so we are crossing fingers, and legs, that I don't go into labor during the next two and a half weeks) the opportunity for him to travel and get these certifications is awesome. Tyler really is an incredibly dedicated and hard worker - and I can easily say he is the hardest working person in his office. I mean, that man wears out a brand new pair of shoes in just a couple months just from how much he is on the go while at work.

I'd say that hopefully his schedule will lighten up after he returns from out of town, but I'm guessing our lives are only going to be getting more hectic and chaotic from here on out... at least for the next several months. Hopefully summer time brings us more relaxed, family filled evenings.

Now the key will be to make it til then without going crazy!

  2. I'm so proud of the woman you've become, and so touched whenever I read about how loving and respectful your relationship with Tyler is. It's a great comfort knowing my family is being cared for as well as they care for others. Good luck to Tyler, these kinds of opportunities are really going to benefit him (and subsequently all of you), and good luck keeping that baby in! ;)
